PGNV, DMW Provide Livelihood Aid to 92 OFWs

The journey toward rebuilding the lives of 92 distressed Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), began with renewed hope as the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya (PGNV), under the leadership of Governor Atty. Jose “Jing” V. Gambito , released ₱10,000 in livelihood assistance on December 2, 2025, at the People’s Stage, Capitol Compound, Bayombong.

The initiative, carried out in partnership with the Public Employment Services Division (PESD) led by Chief-Supervising Labor and Employment Officer II Dolly Rose C. Minas, and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), aims not only to provide financial support but also to help returning OFWs regain stability and confidence as they reintegrate into their communities.

Rhea Q. Mallilin, Miguel Antonio D. Espejo, and Jessica Pagalilauan, Labor and Employment Officers (LEOs) of the DMW also facilitated the distribution of the assistance, making sure that each beneficiary felt supported and valued after experiencing hardships abroad.

This program reflects Governor Gambito’s commitment in uplifting the lives of OFWs from Nueva Vizcaya, especially those compelled to return home due to difficult or unforeseen circumstances.

Minas emphasized that beyond financial aid, the initiative symbolizes the province’s compassion and support for migrant workers as they start anew. The DMW also noted that more reintegration efforts and livelihood opportunities are set to follow, strengthening the province’s mission to provide OFWs not only with assistance but a fresh start grounded in dignity and hope.

To qualify for livelihood assistance, applicants must present the following requirements: a passport or travel document, proof of distress, a medical certificate issued abroad, a termination letter, a referral from the Migrant Workers Office, and proof of arrival within the last three years. These requirements apply to programs under both the DMW and OWWA. The Nueva Vizcaya OFW Welfare Center will assess each applicant, and once deemed eligible, they will be endorsed to the DMW for assistance. #jmcb
