The Disaster Preparedness Cluster and Disaster Response Cluster of the Nueva Vizcaya Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NVDRRMC) convened for its second quarter meeting on June 24, 2026, at the PDRRMO Evacuation Center, Capitol, Bayombong. The meeting presided over by Flordelina C. Granada, Cluster Head of the Response Cluster, together with Robert L. Corpuz, Cluster Head of the Preparedness Cluster, provided overviews of the agenda items to be discussed.

Discussion focused on the DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2026-003, the report on the LDRRMF Utilization for fiscal year 2026, and other relevant matters.

The DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2026-003, known as the Guidelines on the Management of the Dead and Missing Persons (MDM) Operations, tasks the LGU with establishing systematic protocols to ensure organized, respectful, and data-based handling of casualties. LGUs shall activate local MDM clusters, make close coordination, and have accurate data validation and standardized documentation.

In other matters, the different activities for the upcoming disaster resilience month were presented. The timelines for each event were shown and briefly discussed. In line with this, Mr. Robert Corpuz stated that the celebration is a way of showcasing the strength and capacity of the different clusters in disaster preparedness and response, and invites the different agencies such as Red Cross, Army, BFP, and the PNP, to join in the kick-off activity.

The active participation and thorough discussions during the meeting demonstrate the PDRRMC’s dedication and capability in serving and protecting the province and its citizens from disasters and calamities. /akagb
