The Provincial Council for the Welfare of Children (PCWC) convened for its second quarter meeting on June 11, 2026, at the Paniqui Hall, Capitol, Bayombong. A notable agenda item was the formal designation of Mr. Arieston S. Galano and Mr. Calvin Jake P. Soriano as Child Representatives. The meeting also delved into crucial assessment and audit findings. Mr. James Daryll Liggayu of the DILG/PCWC Secretariat presented the results of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) Functionality Assessment, offering a clear picture of the operational effectiveness of LCPCs across the province. Following this, he also shared the outcomes of the Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit, providing data-driven insights into how local government units are performing in creating child-friendly environments.
Looking towards the future, Ms. Flordelina C. Granada, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer (PSWDO), provided important updates on the final three-year children’s plan. This forward-looking discussion aimed to outline strategic priorities and actionable steps to enhance the well-being and protection of children in Nueva Vizcaya for the coming years.
