Outstanding farmers were recognized during the celebration of the Nueva Vizcaya Farmers and Fisherfolk Day held on June 25, 2026, at the CMP Convention Center, Provincial Capitol, Bayombong.

The awardees received cash incentives and plaques in recognition of their exemplary contributions to the agriculture and fisheries sector. Outstanding awardees received P10,000 each, while first runner-ups and second runner-ups received P8,000 and P6,000, respectively. Consolation prizes worth P2,500 each were also awarded to other participating farmers.

The 2026 Outstanding Farmers and Fisherfolk awardees are:

• Outstanding Rice Farmer – Jessie F. Abrogar of Lantap, Bagabag

• Outstanding Corn Farmer – Marites E. Licos of Bintawan, Villaverde

• Outstanding Vegetable Grower – Gaspar S. Colas Jr. of Galintuja, Alfonso Castañeda

• Outstanding Fruit Tree Grower – Emerita E. Calpasi of Latar, Aritao

• Outstanding Fishpond Operator – Elimar S. Barroga of San Juan, Solano

• Outstanding Animal Raiser – Rochel S. Trajano of Bagabag

• Outstanding Organic Practitioner – Taning B. Nileng of Balangabang, Kayapa

• Outstanding Rural Woman – Linda B. Pascua of Aurora, Quezon

• Outstanding Young Farmer – Lyra Kim B. Kiray of Cabanglasan, Kayapa

Municipal Agricultural and Fishery Coordinators (MAFCs) and Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) were likewise recognized for their dedication and valuable contributions to agricultural development in the province. /bgl
