The Provincial Tourism and Culture Office (PTCO) with the Municipal Tourism Office of Kasibu launched the Capisaan C3 (Caving, Camping, and Coffee) Experience from June 10-11, 2026, in Barangay Capisaan, Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya. The two-day event welcomed over 100 visitors from various regions and included lectures and the turnover of the Capisaan Management Plan alongside the main three activities.
The first day of the event saw the opening ceremony joined by Capisaan Barangay Captain Patrick Batulon and Kasibu Mayor Romeo Tayaban, alongside Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito, Nueva Vizcaya Council for Culture and Arts Chair Eunice Galima-Gambol, Provincial Tourism Council Chair Ruth Padilla, PTCO Marichelle O. Costales, and Saniata ti Nueva Vizcaya 2026 Leanne Jay Derije. A performance by the Tadji Elementary Cultural Group also showcased the indigenous traditions within the municipality, culminating in a community dance joined by guests and officials.
The lecture series included talks on the history of Capisaan Cave and tectonic drift by Mr. Eric Bangad of the Sang-at-Salug Outdoors Club; the natural aspects of caves such as flora, fauna, and karst systems by Forester Jayson Carranza of Nueva Vizcaya State University; and updates on tourism in the province by Department of Tourism by Department of Tourism representation Romeo Caranguian. The turnover of the Capisaan Cave Management Plan was also conducted, joined by Engineer Giovannie Magat of the Provincial Environmental and Natural Resources Office (PENRO).
Ten groups of tourists then traversed the halfway route of the Capisaan Cave system for the afternoon’s activities, with camping in the evening taking place at the Capisaan Tourist Information Center. The second day covered the coffee tour portion of the event, as well as a hike up Capisaan Eco-Trail and a visit to Mun-Abol weavers. Featured in this activity is the Jaime Cumila Coffee Farm, with the experience itself being led by Mr. Jerry Cabalce of the Filipino Coffee Institute.
The Capisaan C3 experience reveals the current administration’s priority to promote Nueva Vizcaya as an adventure tourism hub as well as the presentation of learning opportunities and Novo Vizcayano products for outside visitors and the local communities. /igmb
