NVPH Welcomes New Hires with Comprehensive Onboarding Session

Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital (NVPH) in Bambang reinforced its commitment to effective personnel integration by hosting a dynamic two-hour onboarding session on August 22, 2025. The session emphasized key hospital functions, employee responsibilities, and interactive elements designed to engage new hires.

The onboarding featured presentations from representatives across various committees, including Hospital Blood Transfusion, HIV/AIDS, Patient Safety, Information and Communication Technology, Infection Control, and Healthcare and Solid Waste. Each representative addressed critical aspects of hospital operations and compliance. A notable segment included a live demonstration of proper hand hygiene techniques led by Rolina Niegas, Infection Control Nurse, reinforcing the hospital’s commitment to infection control.

Marc Angelo Tomas, Donor Recruitment Officer, underscored the importance of blood donation, aligning with the “Libre a Dara Para Ti Umili” initiative of Governor Jose V. Gambito. He detailed Republic Act No. 7719, which promotes voluntary blood donation to secure a safe and sufficient blood supply, and announced an upcoming In-house Blood Donation Activity in December.

Mariannty Jira Castillo David, rHIVda focal person, discussed the HIV Prevention and Control in the Workplace Policy, referencing RA 11166. She emphasized the hospital’s dedication to maintaining a respectful and inclusive workplace for all employees, regardless of HIV status.

Jhoemelian Cacal, Medical Records Officer, covered Confidentiality and Data Privacy, referencing RA 10173 and RA 10175 to ensure the protection of patient information. While Gibson Santos, Health Education and Promotion Officer, educated attendees on patients’ rights, providing practical examples and interactive scenarios to enhance understanding.Pollution Control Officer Jovial Judith Estrada Vigilia-Gaspar led a discussion on Hospital Waste Management, emphasizing proper disposal practices to maintain environmental standards. And Raquel Benter-Manangan, Disease Surveillance Officer, concluded the session by encouraging participation in Department of Health programs, highlighting their importance in community health.

The onboarding session aimed to equip new NVPH employees with the knowledge and values needed for effective and responsible service within the hospital. By incorporating interactive elements and practical demonstrations, NVPH ensures that new hires are well-prepared to meet their duties and contribute to the hospital’s mission of delivering quality healthcare to the community. /mccd
