
Nueva Vizcaya is celebrating the remarkable achievements of Ms. Remedios R. Panganiban, a retired Education Program Supervisor in Science from the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division Office-Nueva Vizcaya, who has been honored with the 2nd Gawad Parangal for Exemplary Senior Citizens 2025 under the Education Category. The prestigious award, conferred by the Senior Citizens Partylist, was presented on October 15, 2025, at the Meeting, Incentives, Conference, and Exhibitions (MICE) Event Center in Quezon City.
The Gawad Parangal honors senior citizens who have made meaningful contributions across different sectors of Philippine society. Ms. Panganiban’s recognition underscores her lifelong devotion to education, her innovative teaching methods, and her steadfast commitment to the students of Nueva Vizcaya.
Born on December 23, 1947 in District 4, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, Ms. Panganiban’s journey in education culminated in a Master of Arts in Teaching degree. She retired in 2012 after a distinguished career marked by a passion for inspiring young minds and fostering a love for science.
During her tenure at DepEd, Ms. Panganiban was a driving force behind numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing science literacy and promoting excellence in education. She mentored countless teachers, developed innovative teaching strategies, and worked tirelessly to ensure that students had access to quality learning opportunities. Her leadership extended beyond the classroom, as evidenced by her involvement as PTCA President of Nueva Vizcaya General Comprehensive High School and her former presidency of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Nueva Vizcaya formally recognized Ms. Panganiban’s outstanding achievement on December 9, 2025, with the presentation of Resolution No. 2025-5978. Authored by Board Member Eunice Galima-Gambol, the resolution commends and congratulates Ms. Panganiban for bringing pride and honor to the province, serving as an inspiration to public servants, educators, and senior citizens alike.
For Ms. Panganiban, the commendation from her home province holds particular significance. “This is priceless,” she said, her voice filled with emotion. “To be recognized by my own community, by the people I have served for so many years, is the greatest honor I could receive.” #mvs
