The Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PROCEDE), headed by Ms. Juditte L. Asuncion, Provincial Cooperative Affairs Officer, honored the Tiblac Farmers Agriculture Cooperative on July 13, 2026, during the flag‑raising ceremony at the People’s Stage, Capitol, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
According to Mr. Marvin A. Tucay, the recognition honors the cooperative’s outstanding achievement in the 2nd North Luzon Coffee Quality Competition, held on May 20–21, 2026, at The Orchard Hotel in Baguio City.
Organized by the Philippine Rural Development Project‑North Luzon and the Department of Trade and Industry, the contest drew 65 coffee entries from across the region — six of which represented Nueva Vizcaya. Expert cuppers evaluated every batch on aroma, flavor, acidity, body, balance, aftertaste, and overall quality.
The Tiblac Farmers Agriculture Cooperative claimed top honors in the Robusta category with an outstanding entry produced by Ms. Joan Dulagan and collectively processed by the cooperative. The coffee earned an impressive score of 85.06 points, qualifying it as premium-grade coffee, and shared the elite ranking with only one other Robusta entry from Sagada, Mountain Province.
Tasters noted an exceptionally rich profile: hints of almond, banana, brown sugar, cherry, dark chocolate, dried fruit, fruit wine, jackfruit, mango, mixed berries, peach, pineapple, tangerine, and tropical fruit — plus a smooth texture and clean finish.
Remarkably, all six entries submitted by Nueva Vizcaya secured premium‑grade ratings. Officials said this proves the rising skill, high standards, and growing competitiveness of local farmers and cooperatives.
The cooperative benefits from support under the Philippine Rural Development Project and is a valued partner of the provincial government. Leaders commended the team for putting Nueva Vizcaya coffee on the map and urged them to keep raising standards and growing the local coffee industry.
Provincial officials led by Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito, Vice Governor Eufemia A. Dacayo, and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, presented the Tiblac Farmers Agriculture Cooperative with a Certificate of Recognition and a Plaque of Recognition, along with a special citation for its producer, Ms. Joan Dulagan. /mvs
