Ex-BM Gerdan is the 203rd RRIBn Commander

On behalf of the Honorable Governor Carlos M Padilla, the Provincial Administrator, Ms. Maybelle Dumlao-Sevillena, attended the Installation of the 203rd Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (RRIBn) Commander, MAJ Flodemonte Santiago Gerdan , Philippine Army (PA) (RES),former Board Member (BM) of the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya (PGNV), held at the Ammungan Hall, Capitol Compound, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya on October 11, 2022.

COL Wilfredo C. Adquilen, Jr. QMS (GSC) PA, Group Commander, 2RCDG, RESCOM, PA, served as the Keynote Speaker.

In her message, Dumlao-Sevillena conveyed her utmost gratitude to Lt. Col. Dan August Oro, PA (RES) the previous battalion commander, for his exemplary service that he rendered as he faithfully executed the mandate of his office during the entirety of his tenure. Oro was equipped with professional competence focusing on operational efficiency, internal security, delivery of basic services, and the optimal use of resources.

The incoming Battalion Commander, MAJ Flodemonte S. Gerdan, PA (RES), held previous command and staff positions starting with platoon commander, company commander, administrative officer, intelligence officer, operations officer, civil military operations officer, and secretary to the general staff.

Gerdan was fearless, and likewise legislated landmark ordinances which eventually emerged triumphant through sheer determination and courage. In his course of career, he received numerous awards and commendations recognizing his exceptional performance of duty in both legislative and administrative assignments.

“As we look and think about a world wrought with conditions and situations that are hard to predict, a world full of elements and forces that can wreak havoc on its domain, the kind of leadership that you possess; the strong presence, the administrative and operational proficiency, unmatched discipline, and unwavering commitment will come in useful for the work that you are facing ahead of you’’, Sevillena said.

She added that the journey will not be an easy one. It will sometimes be treacherous, always complex. It will be difficult and at times seemingly unbearable. “With the battalion beside us, assisting and putting in place the fundamental prerequisites for nation-building, we shall overcome and emerge victorious in the end’’, she concluded.
