PDRRMO conducts EQ drill among children
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in cooperation with Capitol Day Care Center (CDCC) conducted an earthquake and fire drill among enrolled daycare children for school year 2019 to 2020 last August 16, 2019.
The said activity aims to accustom school children on the process and recognize the need to take the drill seriously and be mindful on the procedures to follow during actual occurrence. Proper communication on the said procedures can help reduce confusion panic, disorderly behavior and causalities.
The PDRRMO staff explained and demonstrated the “Duck, Cover and Hold” drill and proper evacuation procedures that children can comprehend.
The BFP also presented basic procedures in case of fire and introduced safety equipment firefighters used in fire incidents.
Earthquake and fire drills are frequently observed in all places in the Philippines because it is under the Pacific Ring of Fire where the possibility of earth quake is inevitable. #cqc
