Gov wants NELEX more beneficial to NV
Governor Carlos M. Padilla led the consultative meeting among project proponents and local stakeholders on the proposed Northeastern Luzon Expressway (NELEX) held on 23 October at the Nueva Vizcaya Livelihood and Pasalubong Center in Magsaysay, Bayombong.
Leading the project presenters were Jack Lam, NELEX Assistant Project Leader of Ove Arup & Partners Hongkong Ltd. and Rommel R. Rosales, NELEX Project Manager of the DPWH.
Observing the alignment of the alternate national highway that traverses the provinces of Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino, Governor Padilla reiterated his concerns, i.e., historical, environmental and IP/ICC issues, and possible road re-alignments for the infrastructure project to be able to deliver better and more economic development impacts for our Province and people in general.
Engr. Rosales assured that they have documented the entire proceeding and will furnish the good Governor with a copy of their final report. “We will carefully study all the suggested project modifications in tandem with the contractor’s technical people to make sure that the concomitant cost increments will fall within acceptable limits, for the project to proceed as planned.”, he added.
Also in attendance were Mayor Romeo C. Tayaban and other officials of the Municipality of Kasibu, and some officers and personnel of the Provincial Government, including Provincial Assessor Jose L. Carreon, Jr., Engineer III Carlo Vincent B. Tallungan of the Provincial Engineering Office, Planning Officer IV Arthur Opeña and Administrative Aide III Ronnie Flores of the Provincial Planning and Development Office, Supervising Administrative Officer Emilie C.
