Brgy. Osmena wins 2019 Most Child-Friendly Barangay

By on November 28, 2019

Barangay Osmena triumphantly bagged the title as Most Child Friendly Barangay 2019 in the province during the Children’s Month celebration culminating activity last November 26, 2018 at the Nueva Vizcaya Convention Center, after being awarded as second runner-up for two consecutive years.

Barangay Osmena has doubled its efforts to ensure the welfare of children with the presence of its development and investment plan for children, organized and comprehensive data from 0-17 year’s old, well documented health, nutrition activities, school and community based activities, and implementation of resolutions passed in the barangay that covers all four core areas of child rights.

The Search for Most Child-Friendly Barangay started in 2015. It covers the entire agenda for children wherein an important task for Local Government Units (LGUs) will institutionalize a child-friendly governance to ensure that the Local Councils for the Protection of Children (LCPC) are organized and functional from the barangay, municipal and provincial levels.

Barangay Imugan sustained its award winning programs and projects which only proves that it is a barangay worthy of the award as first runner-up for the second time.

Barangay Dulli was again Ambaguio’s entry for 2019 and bagged second place as Child-Friendly Barangay which also garnered the same in 2017.

Barangay Dulli, despite of its difficult road access, the barangay is commendable for its significant accomplishments for its children with its close coordination with the schools, non-government organizations (NGOs), faith-based groups, and community service providers.

Barangay Paquet, being the Provincial Winner in 2018 was also conferred as Consistently Maintained Performance (CMP) as Most Child-Friendly Barangay award for its first year maintenance of child friendly initiatives in the barangay.

However, Barangay Bacneng was not able to maintain and innovate child-friendly initiatives in its barangay for its supposedly second year as CMP as Most Child-Friendly Barangay award this year.

Barangay Bintawan Sur, Sto. Domingo Proper and Runruno also was awarded Most Promising Barangay, these barangays showed significant potential as a child friendly barangay through its programs activities for children.

Aside from the plaques and certificates, cash incentives were also awarded to winners and consolation prize winners which will be used in the barangay’s projects for children. #krizel
