NVPTC meets at the LMET Park

The Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Tourism Council (NVPTC) held its 3rd Regular Meeting on September 23, 2022 at the Local Magat Ecotourism (LMET) Park in Diadi to tackle the following agenda: Proposal of Vice Governor Jose V. Gambito to venture with investors on the management and operation of the LMET Park; Draft of the Nueva Vizcaya Tourism Development Plan covering the period CY2023-2028 (NVTDP2023-2028); Mandatory accreditation by the DOT of primary tourism enterprises; and Availment by local tourism enterprises of the CARES for Travel Program of the DTI.

The NVPTC also discussed certain issues and concerns raised by some leaders of the Tourism Industry, including: Access roads to tourist destinations; Involvement of Micro and Small Business Enterprises in the One Town One Product (OTOP) Program, and culinary activities; Possible collaborations on international tourism; Showcasing of IPs/ICCs in line with the emerging popular notion that the province is a “melting pot of ethnolinguistic groups”; Integration of the Education Sector and more explicit role of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) in the NVTDP2023-2028; and Review of the existing NVPTC Executive Order for possible amendments, among others.

The Council expressed its appreciation to the PTCO for its successful and productive handling of the Nueva Vizcaya Goes to Santiago: Travel and Trade Expo held on September 16-18, 2022 at the Robinsons Mall in Santiago City, Isabela.

Assisting NVPTC Chairperson Ruth Raña-Padilla who presided over the meeting were Board Member Eunice Galima-Gambol, Chairperson of the SP’s Committee on Tourism, Culture, and the Arts, and Ms. Marichelle Orden-Costales, Acting Chief of the Provincial Tourism and Culture Office (PTCO).
