The people of the Province of Isabela, through Governor Rodolfo T. Albano III, as represented by Provincial Administrator Atty. Noel Manuel R. Lopez, who visited Nueva Vizcaya on 10 March 2021, extend their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the generous donations of Novo Vizcayanos when their province was ravaged by Typhoon Ulysses. Provincial Administrator Maybelle Blossom Dumlao-Sevillena received the token of appreciation on behalf of Governor Carlos M. Padilla.
It can be recalled that the province of Isabela was one of the most affected provinces when Typhoon Ulysses hit the Philippines in November 2020. Floodwaters turned streets into rivers, and even reached roofs. 50 out of 91 villages had been inundated, including all those in the town of Sto. Tomas. Some shelters were also flooded, forcing isolated and displaced villagers to flee to higher grounds. All these prompted Governor Albano to declare a state of calamity in their province.
Through the leadership of Governor Padilla, and facilitated by PA Sevillena, a donation drive, dubbed “One NV for Cagayan Valley”, was undertaken to bring immediate relief and comfort to typhoon victims in Nueva Vizcaya, along with those in the provinces of Cagayan and Isabela.
In his letter to Governor Padilla, Governor Albano said, “Your generous donations inspire us in our mission to rebuild our communities and promote the health and well-being of Isabeleňos stricken with devastation caused by Typhoon Ulysses and the subsequent massive flooding. I, in behalf of the people of Isabela, wish to extend my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for your noble gesture.” He stated further that, as a way of reciprocating the open-heartedness of the Novo Vizcayanos, they shall continue to perform their duties as public servants efficiently.
During the dialogue with PA Sevillena, Atty.
