Through the years, the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has provided an array of social security benefits to its members in various contingencies including retirement, disability, among others. As the country is facing lockdown upon lockdown, GSIS is continuously finding ways to enhance its program.
In a recent interview with GSIS Nueva Vizcaya Branch Manager, Haydee S. Delinela, she mentioned of the various enhanced loans that will benefit its members and ensure their continuous services for them, especially with the onslaught of the COVID-19. pandemic . “Although, other loan programs of the GSIS were already enhanced prior to this pandemic, it is also because of the pandemic that the insurance system was triggered to improve our loan programs, so we can provide bigger loans with lower interest rates, the easiest and more accessible way to the members, besides harnessing our technology to make transactions safer and more convenient for them, ” Delinela said.
Delinela who is anticipating a transfer to another GSIS branch outside Nueva Vizcaya this year said that she has nothing but good words to NV people particularly her staff, for not giving her any trouble in her 3-year stint in the province. “Although there maybe some complaints once in a while, members are all welcome to visit the office, anytime within office hours, so that they will be clarified on their queries to their fullest satisfaction. And we would also like to reiterate the members to update their contact numbers and e-mail addresses, as this is how we give updates and notices to them,” she said.GSIS, according to Delinela has been very responsive to the needs of its members, and whatever program the company is offering, specifically on loan programs, “Bahala na sila mamili, depende sa kakayahan nilang magbayad,” she said.
Before the pandemic, we have service desk services, once a month with other provinces covered by our area, including Ifugao and Quirino provinces, “Pero dahil kailangan natin sumunod sa mass gathering, we have to stop the provision of this service desk. However, we have already established an on-line facility, for them to make their applications and other transactions, electronically. In fact, we are visiting local radio stations in the province to disseminate new programs of the system, apart from personal visitation to our clients/members on instances where they can no longer visit the office due to sickness and disability.
Meantime, “members do not have to worry about their contributions, “Dahil nandito kami unang una para protektahan ang pondo. And to this date, we can say safely say that GSIS is financially stable because we have an array of investments where GSIS expertly manages funds,” she said.
In the event that GSIS will be confronted with issues relative to abuse of entrusted power for private gain, Delinela assures the public especially its members that officials and employees involved will definitely face consequences. # gloria
