The Flag Raising Ceremony of January 12, 2026, was sponsored by the Governor’s Office and its Divisions and held at the People’s Stage, Capitol Compound, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. In his speech to the provincial government employees, Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito laid out not only the continuation of the ongoing flagship projects, but innovative and inclusive additions to the province.
On the occasion of honoring the athletes and achievers of Nueva Vizcaya, Governor Gambito also announced the intention to build a paragliding pilot school as part of tourism in the province, stating that what the terrain lacked in beaches, they more than made up for in mountains and wide-open view, of which advantage must be taken in new ways as tourists continue to enter. The paragliding school will also be part of the province’s bid to become the center of air sports in the region, according to the governor. The Nueva Vizcaya paragliders affirmed their commitment to this vision.
Governor Gambito also elaborated on his ongoing talks with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) for the establishment of a field office, stating his intentions to provide their employees and facilities. Keeping one prescient eye on the constituency, the governor stated that this move may finally enable the acquisition of passports and other documents without necessary travel to neighboring cities of Santiago and Tuguegarao. This endeavor, having previously been discussed among the relevant parties, is affirmed by the governor to be a main goal for this year.
The governor avowed the continuation of his flagship projects “Kalsada ti Kabanbantayan”, “Dalan ti Umili”, and “Dara ti Umili” in developing infrastructure and providing healthcare services to the public. Expressing his gratitude to the department heads, Governor Gambito also credited their efforts in bringing and even initiating innovative projects to the province and its constituents.
