Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito led the awarding ceremony for the 5th batch of Nonagenarian awardees on August 14, 2025, at the Carlos M. Padilla Convention Center, Capitol, Bayombong. The event, organized through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) headed by Flordelina C. Granada, honored 21 senior citizens from across Nueva Vizcaya who have reached the extraordinary age of 90 years or older.
Held in accordance with the Nonagenarian Ordinance authored by Board Member Eunice Galima- Gambol, each awardee received special recognition for their long lives and significant contributions to their communities, along with a cash gift of P10,000. The recipients hailed from 5 municipalities, with 13 recipients from Bayombong, 3 from Solano, 2 each from Bagabag and Bambang, and 1 from Kasibu. Among the honorees, the oldest was Pilar M. Fabian, a 96-year-old resident from Sto. Domingo, Bambang, who was recognized for her enduring legacy.
“Today, we celebrate more than just age. We celebrate the rich experiences and lasting impact you’ve made on your families and communities. This recognition is our way of showing deep appreciation for your strength, dedication, and the example you set for future generations,” Governor Gambito remarked.
The Nonagenarian Award, initiated by Board Member Galima-Gambol, serves as a reminder of the importance of caring for and valuing senior citizens. While not an annual event, it underscores the provincial government’s commitment under Governor Gambito to honor and support the elderly, making certain they live with dignity, respect, and receive recognition for the wisdom they offer to society. #jmcb
