Farmers and fisherfolk from Barangay Lipuga, Alfonso Castañeda, along with participants from neighboring barangays, received agricultural support through the Agri-Fishery Information and Techno Caravan held on Friday, November 28, 2025. The distribution included essential farm inputs such as seedlings, vegetable seeds, pesticides, and insecticides. Fisherfolk with fishponds were also assured of receiving bags containing 1,000 fingerlings each to strengthen local aquaculture production.
The caravan is a flagship program of the Provincial Agricultural Office (PAO) headed by Mr. Absalom Rizal D. Baysa, designed to bring services and information directly to the farming and fishing communities. The initiative supports Governor Jose “Jing” V.Gambito’s vision of transforming Nueva Vizcaya into a leading organic farming province.
Organized in partnership with the Provincial Agriculture and Fisheries Extension System (PAFES) under ABE Christian M. Gallardo and the NVFITS Center led by Ms. Jonavelle T. Lapada, the activity seeks to decentralize agricultural services and ensure accessibility even in remote areas.
According to Mr. Baysa, the caravan plays a vital role in improving farmers’ productivity and livelihood by equipping them with accurate and timely information, ensuring they receive the right services at the right time. Apart from the agricultural inputs, Gov. Gambito led the distribution of rice and other relief goods expressing gratitude for the community’s support and patience after the devastation caused by Typhoon Uwan.
“Ako ay naparito upang magpasalamat sa lahat ng tulong ninyo sa akin at sa ating gobyerno at upang mabisita kayo after the typhoon Uwan,” Governor Gambito said, assuring senior citizens that they remain a top priority of his administration.
Fresh from a meeting in Manila with the League of Governors of the Philippines, Gov. Gambito shared that he joined a dialogue with President Bong bong Marcos to convey unified support from local chief executives, calling on residents to set aside political conflict.
“Let us help him finish his term at sa susunod na uupong presidente, ipakita rin natin ang ating suporta, para sa ikatatahimik ng ating bansa,” he said.
The crowd applauded when the Governor expressed his commitment to securing aid saying: “Kahit magmukha akong pulubi, basta hindi ako titigil hangga’t hindi ako nakakahingi ng tulong upang sumapat sa pangangailangan ng aking mga kababayan.”
Gov. Gambito also highlighted the ongoing implementation of the Dalan Ti Umili project, aimed at paving roads in far-flung areas to ensure accessibility and government presence.“
Dahil napakalayo ninyo, kami ang lalapit sa inyo,” he added. /gloria
