Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito led the distribution of “Go Bag ti Umili” kits to almost 1,000 residents of Brgys. Nagbitin, Sawmill, Ocapon and Cabuluan, in Villaverde on August 11, 2025 as he vows to bring more programs and services closer to its people.
In his message, Gov. Gambito expressed gratitude to the community for their trust and support to his administration they have always extended to him. “I will not let all these go unanswered. I will make sure to give back the trust you have always given to me, especially during the last election. That is why you can expect more and better projects to come to Villaverde,” Gov. Gambito said.
Among the flagship initiatives he highlighted include “Dalan ti Umili” which has already reached Villaverde and is currently ongoing. He also announced a major plan to bring health services closer to the town, addressing the difficulty the residents face in accessing hospitals.
According to Gov. Gambito, Villaverde will soon have two mobile clinics equipped with free X-ray and ECG services, free doctor consultations, and free medicines for diagnosed illnesses. “Because you are far from the hospital, we will bring these services directly to you,” he assured.
On agriculture, Gov. Gambito reported that he has convened a meeting with the National Food Authority (NFA), the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), and the Department of Agriculture (DA) to tackle farmers’ concerns on the pricing and sale of palay and rice.
The “Go Bag ti Umili” project, spearheaded by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) headed by Mr. Robert L. Corpuz, aims to prepare households for possible emergencies and calamities. Each kit contains survival essentials such as a rechargeable flashlight, glow stick, whistle, first aid kit, and a flotation-ready bag.
“The Go Bag we are distributing is a project that aims to help us gradually prepare for any disaster that may come our way. While we pray that no calamity will strike Nueva Vizcaya, it is always better to be prepared,” the governor emphasized.
He also assured the people of Villaverde that his administration will continue to deliver projects that will uplift communities, strengthen disaster resilience, and support farmers’ livelihood.
The first batch of distribution will continue until August 15, 2025, with another set of beneficiaries scheduled for other barangays of Villaverde, Diadi, and Bagabag. /gloria
