SPNV lauds ACI’s new president

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Nueva Vizcaya (SPNV) headed by Vice Governor and Presiding Officer Atty. Jose V. Gambito passed on November 14, 2022, Resolution No. 2022-4377 extending congratulations to Rev. Dr. Micah Ryan B. Ramel for having been appointed as the new President of Aldersgate College, Inc. (ACI). Rev. Dr. Ramel took his oath of office before Dr. Willie A. Damasco, Chairman of the College’s Board of Trustees, on October 01, 2022.

In said Resolution, the SPNV stated, “the journey towards excellence can be challenging but Rev. Dr. Ramel has developed strong emotional intelligence, focus, passion, and energy, coupled with better lifestyle choices and skills, and greater self-advocacy”.

The new president declared that he will endeavor “to provide Strategic Leadership for Efficient Learner-Centered Management Systems and in producing Successful Life-Long Learners”, which, he said, is in sync with ACI’s, Mission “to develop the power of reason, to liberate people from ignorance, penury, and hopelessness, and to empower them to commence their own journey for social and economic transformation and spiritual salvation”, and the shared Vision of making the college “A 21st Century University transforming a global network of learners for enlightenment, leadership, and human service”.

Rev. Dr. Ramel earned the degrees of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (1997), Bachelor of Science in Commerce Major in Management (1999), Master in Business Administration (2000), Master in Public Administration (2007), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Commerce – Major in Management (2013, with Distinction) at the Saint Mary’s University, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. He also holds a Master of Divinity (2004) at the Aldersgate College, Inc., Solano, Nueva Vizcaya, and finished the academic requirements for the Master in Distance Education at the University of the Philippines-Los Baños (2018-2021) which he exited with a Graduate Certificate in Distance Education in December 2021. He holds first and second-level civil service eligibilities, a License for Teachers, majoring in Social Sciences/Studies (Ranked No. 6 Overall in Region 02). He is a Bridging Leadership Trainer with a Level 1 accreditation from the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) Center for Bridging Social Divides (2009). He is also a member of the AFPRESCOM Corps of Professors (2021), with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

He is an Educational Leader advocating for Bridging Leadership and the Rights-based Approach for Academic Institutions’ Research, Extension, and Development, Co-Management of Schools/Community-based Ope, and Distance e-learning (ODeL) Programs, Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation (ETEEAP), and Technical Vocational Education Training in Ladderized Education Programs (TVET-LEPs), among others.

Over the years, as a practitioner of Management in various organizations, he had the opportunity to render advisory and other technical services, such as crafting strategic development plans, concept papers, feasibility studies, and project proposals, setting up management systems, and conducting regulatory and accreditation assessments. He has authored and co-authored several articles that were all published in local and international journals, including the 2018 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Women as Prime Movers of Inclusive Business where he also served as a presenter and/or speaker. He is also credited for securing funding and technical support from government and private institutions here and abroad, including the TESDA, Rotary International, East-West Center of West Flanders, Belgium, and ChildFund Japan for the various programs and projects of organizations that he had worked with.

In 2018, he began the Bridging Leadership Advocacy for Barobbob Watershed Protection and Development, which translated into the strong partnership between the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya (PGNV) and the DA-PhilFIDA to establish the first contiguous 100 hectares of Abaca from 100 upland gardeners and, subsequently, to seek multi-stakeholder support for a fiber processing center which would turn them into entrepreneurs.

He now engages more multi-stakeholder groups to Co-Own and Co-Create a Brighter Future at Aldersgate College, in support of the PRAYERS N’ FAITH development agenda of the PGNV. #MBA reporting
