LTO-NV gears up for the Holy Week

In compliance with the order of Regional Director Romeo Solomon Sergio Sales of the Land Transportation Office – Region 02 (LTO-R02) to initiate measures in support of the “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Semana Santa and Summer Vacation 2021,” LTO law enforcers will be deployed during the celebration of the Holy Week along major roads and terminals here in Nueva Vizcaya to assist motorists as well as respond to their complaints.

According to LTO-Nueva Vizcaya OIC-Chief Emelita V. Malana, their enforcers are set to inspect terminals, check the roadworthiness of vehicles, and provide safe, comfortable, and convenient trips for travelers from 27 March to 05 April.

“There will be motorist’s assistance and terminal checking of roadworthiness of motor vehicles (MV), and checking of their franchises as well. Drivers will also be advised to renew promptly their MV licenses and registration, respectively, but there will no apprehension during the said period,” said Malana.

Malana reiterated that this coming Lenten season, the agency’s main focus will be on ROAD SAFETY Advocacy since the roadworthiness and human factors are the usual causes of road crashes or accidents. She is also reminding the motorists of the things they need to check before going on a travel, i.e., by simply bearing in mind BLOWBAGETS, which stands for Battery, Light, Oil, Water, Break, Air, Gas, Engine, Tools, and Self.

She advises motorists and passengers to lessen their strolling or touring during this time of pandemic for the safety of everybody vis-à-vis possible accidents and COVID-19 transmission. “Let’s outsmart COVID-19, and live healthily. Together, we can save millions of lives.”, she stressed.#mccd Photo credit to LTO-NV
