DTI monitors price of face masks

The Department of Trade and Industry – Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Office through its Consumer Protection Division conducted a special price and supply monitoring of disposable and surgical masks in Solano and Bayombong yesterday (January 13, 2020).

The special monitoring is in connection with the recent reports on the increased selling price of surgical and face masks in the market after the eruption of Taal Volcano last Sunday. It also aims to ensure availability and stability of prices in the province.

Based on the monitoring, there were only few available stocks of disposable face masks in some pharmacies while N95 face masks were already sold out early morning of January 13.
Disposable masks retails from P3 to P8 per piece while N95 masks were sold at P67 each. #cqc with reports from Kristine Dian Calimag
