CSO Conference boosts Governance, Citizen Engagement

The Provincial Administrator’s Office, headed by Acting Provincial Administrator Jovito O. Celestino, hosted the 2025 Civil Society Organizations (CSO) Conference on August 4, 2025, at Ammungan Hall, Capitol Compound, Bayombong, centering on strengthening ties between CSOs and the provincial government.

CSOs are essential in tackling societal issues, raising awareness, monitoring policies, and holding governments accountable. They manage funds for projects like healthcare and education, lead campaigns, and partner with local governments to serve marginalized groups. The conference sought to advance participatory governance by amplifying the voices of marginalized sectors within the provincial government.

With the DILG and PGNV officials and employees, 107 representatives from local CSOs attended the conference. The conference provided a platform for open dialogue, with discussions covering key issues such as funding for small business organizations, the shortage of organic fertilizers and pesticides, and heavy traffic caused by ongoing roadworks.

Vice Governor Eufemia A. Dacayo and Board Member Emerlene Jane Galanta-Martinez were also in attendance, emphasizing the provincial government’s focus on inclusive governance. Through this collaboration, the provincial government, under Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito’s leadership, and CSOs aim to enhance transparency, accountability, and the overall quality of services for Novo Vizcayanos. #jmcb
