As part of the Grand Ammungan Festival 2026, the Public Employment Services Division of the Governor’s Office (GO-PESD) conducted the Ammungan Job Fair, with the formal opening ceremony taking place in the Carlos M. Padilla Convention Center on May 6, 2026.
The opening ceremony was attended by GAF Director General Eunice Galima-Gambol, also representing Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito and Vice Governor Eufemia A. Dacayo, Department of Migrant Workers Regional Director Rogelio T. Benitez, Department of Labor and Employment Provincial Director Elizabeth U. Martinez, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Provincial Director Ben-hur Baniqued, and Department of Information and Communication Technology Provincial Officer Johanna Tulauan.
In her opening message, Acting PESD Officer Dolly Rose Minas extended the provincial government’s gratitude to agencies and business owners, and advised the attendees not to ‘lose hope’ in the face of rejection, as ‘their every step today is a step toward your dreams’. “Let us continue to work toward an inclusive community.”
BM Galima-Gambol expressed the ‘excitement of being great help to jobseekers’ and divulged that, despite the austerity measures in place and the reduction of GAF events, Governor Gambito had urged the conduct of the job fair as ‘a priority to give opportunities to jobseekers’. She also extended an invitation to the subsequent activities under the GAF, as well as revealing that the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) were invited to the province in July to address Novo Vizcayanos’ passport needs. BM Galima-Gambol also repeated the PGNV’s gratitude to private business owners for their continued partnership.
Mr. Benitez cautioned the prospective workers against ‘corrupting the resources’ of their future organization, as well as encouraging the jobseekers to take full advantage of the government services present for their relevant paperwork. TESDA Director Baniqued commended the continued unity among those present in opening possibilities to jobseekers, and pledged TESDA’s enduring support in its mandate of skills enrichment and provision of opportunities.
DOLE Provincial Director Elizabeth Martinez gave the formal declaration of opening for the Ammungan Job Fair, which will run from May 6 to May 7, 2026. The activities include local employment, verified and licensed overseas recruiting agencies, labor and employment education services, labor market information, employment coaching, career development support, anti-illegal recruitment and trafficking in persons (AIRTIP), pre-employment orientation seminar, and the aforementioned government service caravan that includes the Philippine Statistics Authority, the Social Security System, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, TESDA, eGovPH app services, and the Philippine Red Cross. /igmb
