PLGU facilitates disbursement of funds for Local Programs and Projects

To boost local development and grassroots initiatives, Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito released funds for various local government units (LGUs), non-government organizations (NGOs), irrigators’ associations, and other organizations in the barangays. The disbursement of checks to implement programs and projects on August 22, 2023, at the NV Convention Center.

“This strategy is a priority community-driven effort expected to uplift living standards, and enhance the overall quality of life of Novo Vizcayanos,” Gov. Gambito said.

He also added that these projects and programs will positively and last impact Vizcayanos. “Investing in our barangays means investing in the future of our province. It is our responsibility to ensure they are executed effectively,” he said.

The disbursement covers diverse initiatives, ranging from infrastructure development and education enhancement to livelihood programs and environmental conservation efforts. The released funds are poised to bring about the upliftment of the province’s various sectors.

Representatives from LGUs expressed their gratitude for the release of funds, which they believe will accelerate the implementation of their planned projects. NGO representatives, too, lauded the move, noting that it would empower their efforts to address social issues and promote community welfare.

After the disbursement of funds and cash assistance, close monitoring and evaluation mechanisms will be implemented to ensure that the funds are utilized efficiently and transparently. Accountability and result-based policy remain at the forefront to align with Gov. Gambito’s commitment to responsible leadership and unity. /gpp/
