PLGU gives summer job to 200 students
Two hundred twenty one (221) high school and college students in the province have been accepted in the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) through the Provincial Employment Services Division (PESD) of the Office of the Governor, which will start on May 2.
Seventy five (75) students will be assigned at the Provincial Capitol and the rest will be assigned in the different Municipal Local Government Units. The students will be working this summer for 20 days and will be receiving 360 pesos per day.
SPES is Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) youth employment-bridging program which aims to provide temporary employment to poor but deserving students and out-of-school youth during summer or anytime of the year to augment the family’s income to help ensure that beneficiaries are able to pursue their education.
“We also had given priority to SPES babies (or those who had started the program in the previous years) until they will graduate from school,” said Kizhel Myrtle C. Amayna, Executive Assistant IV and PESD Officer-in-charged. #bg
