NICA Briefs PGNV Officials on Security Threats and Measures

NICA bries PGNVAs presented during a meeting of the CODAC-RDC in Tuguegarao City, the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency – Region 02 (NICA-02) headed by Regional Director Elaine C. Banaynal shall be undertaking a series of Security Awareness Seminars (SAS) in Region 02 alongside hosting line agencies and local governments.

“The SAS aims to broaden and deepen awareness and appreciation on the need to protect sensitive or classified documents and information, and critical facilities and installations from compromise, espionage, theft and sabotage by lawless elements that may, as a consequence, endanger people’s lives and their properties, and undermine our national interest in general.

After its first seminar in Cagayan, the NICA conducted the same activity on 14 March at the Nueva Vizcaya Livelihood and Pasalubong Center (NVLPC), Magsaysay, Bayombong, in close coordination with the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya (PGNV) headed by Governor Carlos M. Padilla, through the Office of Provincial Warden PA Ret. Col. Fernando J. Pasion.

In regard to the shared desire to bring about sustained inclusive socio-economic development, the resource person emphasized the time-honored notion that “a genuine and whole-hearted practice of good governance and ethical leadership is a very important key to lasting peace and order in communities.” She also covered some salient provisions of EO 70 that espouses the “whole-nation” approach to solving insurgency in the country.

Participating in the half-day activity were heads of PGNV offices and divisions under the Governor’s Office. #jlc/mccd
