PPDC Sabado Elected as President of the PIEP
Engr. Edgardo D. Sabado, EnP, MPA, Chief of the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) of the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya, has been unanimously elected as President of the Philippine Institute of Environmental Planners (PIEP) for the period 2019-2020 by members of the professional organization’s National Board of Directors, following the stepping down of the incumbent President for health reasons.
The PIEP’s new set of executive officers and directors were formally inducted into office by former Acting DENR Secretary Gina Lopez on 23 February at the Cocoon Hotel in Quezon City.
EnP Sabado’s fields of expertise include: Urban and Regional Use Planning, Strategic Development Planning, Sector Planning, Facilitation using Technology of Participation, Forest Land Use Planning, Preparation of IEE/EPRMP, GIS, Program/Project Development and Management, Program/Project Monitoring and Evaluation, and Environmental Monitoring.
The PIEP, which was formally established on 16 October 1969 with the approval of its charter by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), aims to promote the professional status and well-being of the country’s Environmental Planners who work for the development of the Philippine regions, cities and municipalities for the benefit of the country’s dynamic communities through a unified and collective effort ensuring comprehensively planned settlements.
