Diaz re-assigned as Provincial Fire Marshall

Superintendent Apolonio Gamboa Diaz, a resident of Santa Fe, assumed as the Provincial Fire Marshall of Nueva Vizcaya Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) on January 11, 2019.

Before Diaz was assigned at the BFP Regional Office in Tuguegarao City as Regional Chief of Directorial Staff cum Regional Chief of Administration, he was the Acting Provincial Fire Marshall of the province from August 2012 to December 2017.

After a year of serving at the Regional Office, Diaz was promoted to the rank of Superintendent on December 21, 2018. In his 28 years of service to the BFP, Diaz had been designated with key positions from the station level (as Municipal Fire Marshall) to the regional level.

He was behind the acquisition of one unit firetruck in 2015 through the joint undertaking with the PLGU of Nueva Vizcaya under the leadership of then Governor Ruth R. Padilla and SN Aboitiz Power Magat Inc. In the same year the bureau received a donation of Nissan Terrano from the PLGU.

Diaz was behind the crafting of the resolution of Mandatory Financial Assistance to all active and retired NV BFP personnel including its immediate families for hospitalization and death aid, which took effect in 2016.
It was also during his administration that female firefighters were recognized in the entire Region 02 for having an organized and active group in implementing programs and activities like outreach to students in the far-flung areas of the province.

The Regional Office had recognized all the notable accomplishments of the NV BFP during his time and awarded several “Medalya ng Papuri” and “Medalya ng Kasanayan” to the bureau. Diaz was awarded the Best Provincial Fire Marshall and the NV BFP as the Best Provincial Office in 2012. Diaz was Best Junior Commissioned Officer in 2015.

Just recently, while still assigned in the regional office, Diaz received 3 “Medalya ng Papuri,” 3 “Medalya ng Kasanayan” and 2 “Medalya ng Pagtulong sa Nasalanta.”

Diaz graduated with the degree Bachelor of Science in Criminology in 1988 at the Pamantasan ng Araullo, Advanced ROTC at MV Gallego Foundation Colleges in Cabanatuan City and finished his Master ot Arts in Public Administration at Aldersgate College of Solano in 2003.
