Another PLGU Hospital to rise in NV
Despite the heavy rains yesterday(July 18),Gov. Carlos Padilla, DOH Regional Office represantive Dr. Merriam Tabian and Mayor Johnny Sevillena led the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Bagabag District Hospital along the national highway at Brgy. Baretbet of the said municipality which is another provincial government managed hospital in Nueva Vizcaya.
Former Gov. Ruth R. Padilla was also invited during the ceremony as recognition to her efforts as the one who initially funded the said project during her administration as Local Chief Executive of the province.
“The construction of another hospital in the province’s northern part will bring the much needed medical services closer to the people”, Gov. Padilla said.
He added that the hospital will also boost the health services of the DoH and concerned local government units considering the growingnumber of patients from northern towns of the province who are in need of medical attention.
According to Dr. Edwine Galapon,Provincial Integrated Health Officer, the construction of the 25 bed capacity Bagabag District Hospital has a total allocation of P17Million pesos from the provincial development fund of the provincial government.
The Department of Health is also set to provide additional funds for hospital equipment and other medical facilities once the construction of Bagabag District Hospital is completed.
At present the provincial government is managing five public hospitals namely; Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital in Bambang,Dupax District Hospital, Kasibu Municipal Hospital,Lt. Tidang Memorial Hospital in Kayapa town and Diadi Emergency Hospital.
