SP to look solutions on traffic problem
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) created an Ad Hoc Committee on July 10 composed of all the members of the Sanggunian, headed by Vice Governor Epifanio LD. Galima Jr., to inquire, in aid of legislation, on the status of the implementation of the Ordinance regulating the flow of vehicular traffic along the four-way lane highway between the Municipalities of Bayombong and Solano.
Ordinance 99-014 was endorsed to possibly solve the vehicular traffic in the said span of the highway, including the provision that tricycles and slow moving vehicles should use the outer lanes and give way to fast moving vehicles to take the inner lanes and avoid slow vehicular traffic.
However, as time passed, there is no sign that the Ordinance is being enforced, and instead of progressing, the flow of traffic has worsened and became disadvantageous to some drivers and passengers using the said highway.
Most of the other spans of the national highway in the province have already been widened but slow moving vehicles still do not use the newly concreted outer lanes. Vehicles wanting to move faster would pass-through on the outer lanes, which is dangerous and in violation of traffic laws.
These traffic violations had cause shame to the province. The SP is determined to find ways and remedies to solve and introduce remedial laws to ease the traffic problems. #bg
