PGNV personnel get free eye checkups anew

As part of the health and wellness program of the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya (PGNV), the request of the Vision Medix Eye Clinic (VMEC) for the conduct of an “Eye Care” outreach program on April 28-29, 2022 at the Provincial Capitol, Bayombong was given due course by Governor Carlos M. Padilla.

The Office of Provincial Administrator Maybelle Dumlao-Sevillana which coordinated the 2-day activity provided the guidelines to ensure optimum coverage of PGNV personnel and avoid any undue disruptions in their delivery of government services.

VMEC’s Dr. Sylvia Laura Milan-Mirasol, OD, PCO, said that thousands of eye patients from their partner organizations, both government and private, have already benefitted from the outreach program which aims to promote eye health and improve the quality of life for everyone, in general.

She explained that “It is specifically anchored on the notion that a comprehensive eye examination, at least once a year, is necessary to detect early signs and symptoms of visual problems that may affect the eyesight. Thus, when left unattended, the disorders may lead to poor work performance.”

The outreach program is implemented across the country by the company’s licensed optometrists, eye care specialists, ophthalmologists, and support technical staff, all of whom are equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic instruments.

The services being offered for free include, thorough eye examination, and treatment of minor disorders. They also brought along with them some affordable prescription glasses.

Provincial Administrator Sevillena said that this noble program that creates a win-win situation for both the proponents and the benefitting personnel is just one among the many initiatives of the PGNV under the (N)etworking and Linking, and (H)ealth components of its overarching PRAYERS N FAITH platform of public administration and governance.
