Ammungan Ti Barangay ken Probinsya
Close to 900 participants composed of punong barangays, barangay kagawads in charge of appropriations and barangay secretaries from all over the province have converged at the Highlander Hotel in Solano to attend the “Ammungan iti Barangay ken iti Probinsya.”
Sponsored by the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya, the Department of Interior and Local Government, and the Liga ng Mga Barangay (LnB) Vizcaya Chapter, the gathering is being held to inform and update barangay officials of the provincial government legislations and ordinances affecting barangay affairs.
Provincial officials headed by Gov. Carlos M. Padilla, Vice Gov. Epifanio LD Galima, Jr., Sanggunian Panlalawigan members, and various chiefs of offices were on hand to answer queries from the barangay officials.
Governor Padilla also presented a report on sand and gravel collections from Calendar Years 2015, 2016 and 2017. From January to June this year, the Provincial Government has collected P13.4 million, double the whole collections of the past two years. The said increase was achieved upon the effect of Tax Ordinance 2016-009, also known as the Revenue on Sand and Gravel and Other Quarry Resources of the Province amended by the Sanggunian Panlalawigan on October 2016.
In the afternoon session, Atty. Voltaire B. Garcia, Provincial Legal Officer and Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) Chairman of the PLGU will make a presentation on the BAC Composition, Duties, and Responsibilities. Menjorie Mark O. Diclas, OIC Supervising Auditor of the Commission on Audit (COA) will also entertain queries regarding from the assembly, while Elsbeth T. Maralli, Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Regional Focal Person of the DILG will be presenting the department’s “Operation Listo Program.”
Victor B. Gines, Jr., LnB Provincial Federation President, Nueva Vizcaya Chapter, and Ms. Rachel M. Itchon, are the moderators for the dialogue.#lag/bg
