Agri-trade Fair contests held

“Partuat ken Patanor” or the Agri-trade Fair was one of the events of the 2015 Ammungan on May 21-24 which featured life in the barrios and showcased exotic and almost extinct edible food. The Fair held Koi and Cookfest competition, and searched for “Balay ti Away” (best booth) at the Tribu Village. “Balay ti Away” depicts a classic setting of the nipa huts fifty years ago.

The Koi competition winner went to Ruben Ramos of Bambang who received P6,000 cash certificate and trophy. Anastacio Cabacungan and Nestor Camilang, both of Quezon town, received P4,000 and P3,000 plus trophies for winning second and third, respectively.

The “Balay ti Away” was awarded to Kayapa with P50,000 cash prize. Bagabag was second with P40,000 cash prize. And P30,000 cash prize went to Villaverde for winning third.

A dish of Boiled Camote, Pinikpikan and Pinilipil (gabi with ground peanut and dried meat or ”itag”) cooked by Leonardo Manaligod and Charlie Magno of Kayapa won first place in the Cookfest competition. Second place were Rosemary Evangelista and Virginia Bacena of Aritao with Organic Rice, Inalseman a Dalag and Kinilnat nga Aba. Geraldine Cerezo and Sherlinda Calibuso of Kasibu won third place with a dish of Red Rice with Pandan Leaves, Native na Manok con Sabunganay ken Itag, and Dinengdeng Kasibu. ‪#‎bg‬
