Earth Day Bike Ride held

In celebration of the Earth Day Week, Nueva Vizcaya scheduled various Earth Day-related activities aimed at increasing the level of awareness of the public on environmental practices that would lessen the impact of climate change. One of the activities was a Bike Ride on April 25 dubbed as “Save Energy, Use Your Power, Ride a Bike.”

This activity was spearheaded by Provincial Administrator’s Office headed by Maybelle Blossom D. Sevillena, in cooperation with the Governor’s Office, ENRO, PDRRMO, NVPEA, PNP, BFP, Red Cross, Delta Com and DRT 933.

Around 250 bikers registered for the Bike Ride which started at the Capitol to Solano, via Brgy. Wacal to Brgy. Casat of Bayombong and Brgy. La Torre and back to the Capitol. It was participated by bike groups in the province; the Bagabag Bikers, Bayombong Solano Bikers, Bambang Bikers, Aritao Bikers, Diadi Bikers, SMU Bikers, PADYAK TULAK Bikers, Biker Priests, Kid Bikers and NVSU Bikers. Some guest bikers from La Union, Ifugao and Kalinga also joined the activity.

In spite of the heavy rain-pour while the bikers were at Brgy. Casat, the bikers enjoyed more the bike ride and no accidents happened.

T-shirts, tokens and certificates were given to all the bikers. The youngest biker who pedaled down to the finish was Aeron Duke, 4-year-old boy from Bagabag. A 70-year-old thought he was oldest, but 71 and 72-year-olders protested until the oldest ended up to a biker at 73. #bg
